The gun bought by the country, the videos posted on social media, the violent cartoons – the signs were all there. On the day of the shooting, on Tuesday, school counselors were going to suspend Ethan Crumbley but they didn’t believe he was capable of hurting other people.

“We heard two shots and then my teacher ran into the classroom, locked it, we barricaded ourselves, we blocked the windows and hid,” Aiden Page, a student at Oxford High School, recalled to CNN. witnessed Tuesday’s shooting at this high school outside Detroit, Michigan, USA. As they listened to the screams of their colleagues, they called the police. “We grabbed calculators and scissors just so we had something to attack the sniper with if he managed to get into the classroom,” Aiden said.

On the other side of the door, young people fled down the halls in a panic as one of the students, Ethan Crumbley, fired more than 30 times at everyone he encountered. The attack would eventually take the lives of four people, injuring seven others, three of whom are still hospitalized.

PUB

Crumbley, 15, has been arrested and is charged, as an adult, with two dozen crimes, including murder, attempted murder and terrorism. Although it lasted only a few minutes, authorities believe they have enough evidence to confirm that the deadliest attack on an American school since 2018 was premeditated.

“A preliminary analysis of the defendant’s social networks, his mobile phone, as well as other evidence recovered from the scene shows that the accused planned this shooting, he who deliberately brought the weapon that day with the intention of killing as many students as possible.” , said prosecutor Marc Keast, during a press conference.

gun was a christmas gift

James Crumbley bought the Sig Sauer 9mm semi-automatic pistol used by his son four days before the shooting. Ethan was with his father at the time of purchase at a local firearms store and authorities believe this would be an early Christmas gift for him.

That same day, the young man posted a photo of the gun on his Instagram with the following description: “I just got this beauty. SIG SAUER 9mm”. A few hours later, it was Crumbley’s mother’s turn to update her social networks with a trip to a shooting range in the company of her son, for this “testing his new Christmas present”.

worrying signs

In the days before the shooting, the first signs of concern began to appear. During one class, Crumbley was seen searching the internet for ammunition. The teacher immediately notified the school management and contacted the youth’s parents by phone and email, but received no response.

According to prosecutor Karen Macdonald, hours later Jennifer Crumbley, the shooter’s mother, sent a message to her son saying “LOL I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught.”

The night before the attack, the young man will have filmed two videos, where he talks about shooting and killing high school students. A similar thought was found in a notebook tucked away in your backpack.

shooting morning

The most alarming sign came on the morning of the shooting, when a teacher noticed something strange on Ethan’s desk. What he saw was so disturbing that he decided to take photographs and expel the student from the class, directing him to the school counselor’s office.

It was a drawing of a semi-automatic weapon that pointed to the words “thoughts don’t stop, help me” and a bullet with the inscription “blood everywhere.” The teacher also revealed that the expressions “my life is useless” and “the world is dead” can be read in the image.

“Between the design of the gun and the bullet is an image of a person who appears to have been shot twice and is bleeding. Underneath that picture is an emoji laughing,” said McDonald.

The image reached the school board, which decided to call a meeting with the parents and the young man. Ethan explained that the drawings were just blueprints for a video game he was creating. Despite this explanation, the parents were summoned to arrange counseling for Ethan within 48 hours, otherwise the school would contact Child Protection Services.

During the meeting, the young man had the gun in his backpack, but it was never searched.

The headmaster asked the parents to take Ethan home that day but they “resolutely refused” and told the son to “go back to work”. And because the student had no prior disciplinary actions, the school counselors allowed him to return to his class instead of sending him home where he would spend the rest of the day alone.

“While we understand that this decision caused anger, confusion and led to understandable questioning, the counselors made a judgment based on their professional training and clinical experience and did not have all the facts we know now,” explained Tim Throne, district school principal.

“Based on his behavior and the responses he gave, at no time did the counselors believe that the student could hurt others. He seemed calm,” Throne said.

the shooting

The prosecutor in charge of the case assured that the authorities are in possession of the images that show how the shooting began.

According to the indictment, after the meeting, Ethan was sent back to the classroom. Moments later, the young man is filmed by security cameras leaving the room with his backpack on his back and heading to the bathroom. Soon after, he went out again, but without a backpack and with the murder weapon in his hand.

It was 12:51. Five minutes of terror followed, in which Crumbley roamed the halls of the school “deliberately and methodically” shooting at every student he encountered. This happened at the end of a break between classes, when hundreds of students were in the hallway, heading to their classrooms.

“What’s portrayed in that video… I don’t have the words to describe how horrible it was,” said the prosecutor.

As they were close to the classrooms, the students quickly entered the classrooms and barricaded themselves. Ethan couldn’t get into any room and that alone stopped there being more victims. The emergency number received more than a hundred calls.

When news of a sniper at the school became public, Jennifer Crumbley texted her son at 1:22 pm: “Ethan, don’t do this.” Fifteen minutes later, at 1:37 pm, James Crumbley called 911 to declare the lack of a firearm at home and to say that his son might be the sniper. The gun should have been in an unlocked drawer in the parents’ bedroom, said Attorney Karen McDonald.

Attorneys point the finger at parents

Jennifer and James Crumbley have been arrested and face four counts of involuntary manslaughter and, if convicted, could face up to 15 years in prison.

Under Michigan state law, an involuntary manslaughter charge can be made if prosecutors believe that someone contributed heavily to a situation that caused injury or death.

“Parents were the only people in a position to know about the [seu] access to guns,” Oakland County Attorney General Karen McDonald said on Thursday. The weapon “seems to have been available without any difficulty for that young man,” he added.

Parents are rarely charged in the United States in shootings involving their children, even when most minors have access to guns in their home or a family member, experts explain.

There is no law in Michigan that requires gun owners to keep them safe from children. However, Karen McDonald highlighted that she believes there is material to file a prosecution process.

“Parents’ actions go far beyond negligence. Of course, we are fully accusing the sniper, but there are other individuals who must be held accountable”, stressed the attorney general in an interview on Wednesday with radio WJR-AM.

One point for each side in the Red and Black Duel. This Friday night, Sport and Flamengo tied 1-1 at Arena Pernambuco, for the 35th round of the brazilian. After two great chances, Michael redeemed himself and opened the scoring for the Cariocas. At the beginning of the second half, however, Gustavo took advantage of a vacillation in the defense of Fla to give final numbers to the confrontation.

Now, Sport returns to the field next Monday, at 9 pm, at Arena Condá, by Chapecoense. Flamengo receives Santos on the same day, but at 8 pm, at Maracanã. Both matches are valid for the penultimate round of the Brazilian Championship.

> Renato Gaúcho speaks for the first time after leaving Flamengo

FRONT RUBRO-BLACK

For those who expected a lukewarm game at Arena Pernambuco, as the two teams only meet the schedule at the Brasileirão, they were positively surprised. In the first few minutes, Vitinho passed Sabino without difficulties on the right, went to the end line and crossed to Michael, who entered the area alone. However, even with Mailson sold in the bid, the 19 shirt got the ball badly and sent it out.

It didn’t take Flamengo long to start scaring Sport again. Vitinho stole the ball from Sport and triggered Pedro. The center forward lined up in Leão’s defense and came close to the small area, but couldn’t get the finish, and Mailson took possession.

“THERE AND HERE”

After the two great chances created, Sport, in the next minute, went over to Flamengo and almost managed to swing the net. Inside the area, Thiago Maia lost the ball, which was left to Mikael. Thus, the shirt 99 raised to Hernanes, who hit solid with the empty goal. However, Hugo recovered on the move and flew to make an incredible save.

GOING FROM THERE?

Flamengo continued under pressure and almost scored a great goal. At nine minutes, from the middle of the field, Fla regained possession of the ball, which was left to Pedro. The center forward, in turn, saw the goalkeeper moving forward and tried the “goal that Pelé didn’t make”. Mailson, however, recovered in time and made the save.

“WHEN MICHAEL IS UGLY, FORGET IT”

After missing two easy goals, Michael redeemed himself for lost chances. Pedro beat Sport’s defense with an iron foot, invaded the area on the right side and crossed to shirt 19. The attacker appeared alone in the area and, this time, he puffed up Leão’s nets.

PRESSURE THAT WORKS

Sport came back on for the second half and, on top of mistakes made by Flamengo, arrived with danger until they managed to tie the game. In less than a minute, David Luiz, still in the defense field, pierced a ball that was practically dominated and allowed Zé Welison to pull the counterattack. The defensive midfielder opened for Everton Felipe, who managed the cross, but the play did not work.

At five minutes, Fla made another mistake and, this time, the Lion didn’t forgive. Matheuzinho headed, without much force, a ball backwards. Gustavo Oliveira was on the move, took possession of the ball, invaded the area and hit Hugo’s exit.

WAS IT OR WAS IT NOT?

With the game tied, Flamengo tried to regain the advantage on the scoreboard with Michael. At ten minutes, the attacker fell inside the area after split with Hernanes, and Leandro Pedro Vuaden saw a penalty on shirt 19. However, after a review at VAR, the penalty was unmarked.

Practically in the next bid, Sport gave the answer and was scolded by the referee. That’s because Gustavo invaded the area and fell after a split with Matheuzinho. The Lion’s players and fans complained, but both Vuaden and the VAR saw no infraction in the play.

TURN PASS NEAR

After tying the game, Sport continued under pressure and nearly turned around. On minute 28, Everton Felipe crossed the ball to Mikael, who headed in firm, but Hugo made a great save on the reflex.

Closer to the end of the game, it was David Luiz’s turn to save Flamengo. Sander played on the left and crossed to Zé Welison, who had the open goal and no goalkeeper to put Leão ahead. The defensive midfielder kicked, but the shirt 23 was well positioned to make the cut and send the ball to corner.

In the last bid, Flamengo still had a great chance with Pedro, who appeared alone after a low cross by Ramon. However, the attacker failed to catch the ball well, and the match ended in a draw.

Many theories are still emerging about the version of Gossip Girl to the HBO Max and use Reddit to publicize them. Here are selected the best.

Someone will find out who Gossip Girl is

It’s interesting to think about when the main characters will discover who the Gossip Girl really is that torments them so much.

In the original, Dan Humphrey’s revelation happens only at the end of the series, but as the reboot lets the audience know that the teachers are behind everything already in the pilot episode, fans believe that some character will discover the truth soon.

One fan posted on Reddit: “a character will resolve to discover the true identity of the gossip girl by the end of the season, creating a game of cat and mouse. I’m betting on Aki or Julien’s father.”

Zoya needs a real romance

The best couples on the show have famous scenes, and maybe when the second season of the reboot starts flowing, Zoya will have a great relationship.

Another fan wrote on Reddit: “Zoia needs a new character to interact with, but I doubt she’ll have a new love interest until season two. When this happens, it will be a genuine romance.”

Kate and Jordan come together more

While audiences don’t have as much information about the teachers as they are about the students, Kate and Jordan Glassberg are the most attractive adult characters in the series. Jordan has a moral compass and doesn’t always believe this is the best way to approach the fact that students have gotten out of hand.

There are people who believe that, at some point, Jordan will turn against the other teachers.

Max’s parents will not be separated

In the season 1 episode “Lies Wide Shut”, Max realizes that his parents Gideon and Roy are having problems in their relationship and it’s touching to see them like this. Fans love these characters and definitely hope for a happy resolution.

Many fans are rooting for the couple’s return.

Could Kate reveal herself as Gossip Girl?

Fans have never understood Dan’s revelation of being the Gossip Girl from the original series, and there are many who have also not accepted the idea that the character’s identity in the reboot is that of a teacher.

Therefore, many believe that Kate can regret everything and reveal the truth.

Did Kate start teaching at Constance for a specific reason?

Many people wonder if there is something hidden behind Kate’s motives for wanting to work at the school. The show focuses a lot on the teacher and many imagine that she may have some ulterior motive that has not yet been disclosed.

The word “scientist” might conjure images of lab-coated researchers tending bubbling beakers or building supercomputers, but an enormous amount of scientific work takes place around a conference table during weekly group meetings. “There is plenty of good research showing that diversity and inclusion make the science itself better,” says Kadambari Devarajan, one of the paper’s co-lead authors and a graduate student in organismic and evolutionary biology as well as environmental conservation. Such diversity and inclusion starts with the structure of the lab meeting itself. Kadambari and her colleagues developed a set of ten guiding principles that help to cultivate lab environments that are inclusive as well productive lab environment, which range from the practical — “Rule 2: Identify roles and rules” and “Rule 6: Manage conflict” — to the interpersonal: “Rule 5: Be respectful and practice civility” and “Rule 9: Be aware of biases.”

Each of the ten rules came out of the team’s own working practice, honed by years of use, in Toni Lyn Morelli’s lab, whose members hail from countries around the globe and are in various stages of their careers. Morelli (Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center and US Geological Survey), a co-author of the paper and a research ecologist affiliated with the environmental conservation department as well as the organismic and evolutionary biology program, notes that though diversity and inclusion are of interest far beyond the realm of science, there’s not always a practical guide to go by. “How does one create a diverse and inclusive lab that enables all members to bring their whole selves? What week-to-week actions can reinforce the sense of community and increase an individual’s, and thus the whole group’s, productivity?” She hopes that these guidelines can act as inspiration for her graduate students, as well as other lab groups, to build similar and even better spaces in the future.

When answers to practical questions such as these are approached deliberately, the result can be powerful and long-lasting. “Lab meetings can be some of the most memorable and rewarding moments in our academic careers,” write the authors, and can help “increase diversity in science, boost scientific creativity, and facilitate problem solving.”

Perhaps most powerfully, the paper’s authors argue that what happens in the lab doesn’t just stay in the lab — it ripples out into society at large. “Science isn’t isolated from what’s happening outside of academia,” says Nigel Golden, co-lead author, graduate student in environmental conservation, and a fellow at the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center, “the world is influencing our science, and our science is influencing the rest of the world.”

Devarajan, Morelli and Golden have also all been recognized as leaders in the effort to diversify science. Devarajan is a recipient of the organismic and evolutionary biology program’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Fellowship, Morelli has received the department of environmental conservation’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion award, and Golden is a recipient of the College of Natural Science’s award for outstanding achievement in inclusion and excellence.

Two theoretical physicists, from the University of Exeter (United Kingdom) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (in Trondheim, Norway), have built a quantum theory describing a chain of quantum resonators satisfying space reflection and time reversal symmetries. They have shown how the different quantum phases of such chains are associated with remarkable phenomena, which may be useful in the design of future quantum devices relying on strong correlations.

A common distinction in physics is between open and closed systems. Closed systems are isolated from any external environment, such that energy is conserved because there is nowhere for it to escape to. Open systems are connected to the outer world, and via exchanges with the environment they are subject to energy gains and energy losses. There is an important third case. When the energy flowing in and flowing out of the system is finely balanced, an intermediate situation between being open and closed arises. This equilibrium can occur when the system obeys a combined symmetry of space and time, that is when (1) switching left and right and (2) flipping the arrow of time leave the system essentially unchanged.

In their latest research, Downing and Saroka discuss the phases of a quantum chain of resonators satisfying space reflection and time reversal symmetries. There are principally two phases of interest, a trivial phase (accompanied by intuitive physics) and a nontrivial phase (marked with surprising physics). The border between these two phases is marked by an exceptional point. The researchers have found the locations of these exceptional points for a chain with an arbitrary number of resonators, providing insight into the scaling up of quantum systems obeying these symmetries. Importantly, the nontrivial phase allows for unconventional transport effects and strong quantum correlations, which may be used to control the behaviour and propagation of light at nanoscopic length scales.

This theoretical study may be useful for the generation, manipulation and control of light in low-dimensional quantum materials, with a view to building light-based devices exploiting photons, the particles of light, as workhorses down at sizes around one billionth of a meter.

Charles Downing, from the University of Exeter, commented: “Our work on parity-time symmetry in open quantum systems further emphasises how symmetry underpins our understanding of the physical world, and how we may benefit from it.”

Vasil Saroka, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, added: “We hope that our theoretical work on parity-time symmetry can inspire further experimental research in this exciting area of physics.”

As the second party in the likely new traffic light coalition, the FDP approved the coalition agreement with the SPD and the Greens this Sunday. On Saturday an SPD party congress had already approved the paper – now the delegates of the largely digital extraordinary FDP federal party congress followed and approved the 177-page paper.

On Sunday there were 535 votes in favor and 37 against, as well as eight abstentions for the coalition agreement. The FDP calculated an approval rate of 92.24 percent.

In his speech, FDP chairman Christian Lindner had previously vehemently promoted the coalition agreement. “It is a coalition agreement for a policy of the center that does not move our country to the left, but wants to lead it forward,” said Lindner at the digital party congress. Because of the corona pandemic, essentially only the party and conference presidium were present at the venue in Berlin.

“This country will benefit from this coalition”

Lindner, who is to become finance minister in the traffic light coalition, emphasized, among other things, that the contract renews the liberal promise of education and promotion. He stands for a socio-political awakening and modern immigration law, provides solid finances and digitization of the state and society. “I am convinced that this country will benefit from this coalition, a new departure in Germany is possible,” said Lindner.

“This coalition agreement contains many projects and concerns of the Free Democrats,” he said. “I’ll go so far as to say: If there had been a possible Jamaica constellation in 2021, there would not have been more liberal politics than is now possible in this traffic light constellation.” All the more, there is now more liberal content than was possible four years ago in the broken talks about a Jamaica coalition with the Union and the Greens.

Four years ago the FDP had the courage to say no to government participation because little liberal politics were visible. “And just as we should now, four years later, have the courage to say yes to a coalition that – as unusual as it may be for the federal level – contains a lot of liberal politics.”

Lindner emphasized: “Today we can say: It is better to dare to venture into this coalition than to forego design opportunities.” At the same time he asked for “patience and tolerance” if the FDP should not be able to implement all of its projects right away and also had to make compromises in the current governmental work.

Bettina Stark-Watzinger, who is slated to be Minister of Education, said the coalition agreement does not only contain clear projects. “We have breakthroughs in areas that have been politically neglected for years.”

Deputy chairman Johannes Vogel also said it was right to take on responsibility now. “The coalition agreement (…) expects everyone – including us,” he admitted. However, progress from the middle can only be achieved if you also take a step towards others. “And we need progress because in recent years there has been too much lowest common denominator in Germany, too much just driving on sight.” In terms of megatrends such as digitization, decarbonization and demography, Germany is therefore in a bad position.

There was practically no criticism from the delegates in the debate on the treaty. Due to the corona pandemic, these were only activated digitally.

98 percent approval of the SPD

On Saturday, more than 98 percent of the delegates approved at an SPD party congress. The result of the basic vote of the Green members is expected this Monday. If this vote is also positive, the coalition agreement is expected to be officially signed on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz wants to be elected as Angela Merkel’s successor in the Bundestag. FDP leader Christian Linder is to become finance minister.

  1. Albert T. Liu, Shuai Chen, Prasant Kumar Jena, Lili Sheng, Ying Hu, Yu-Jui Yvonne Wan. Probiotics Improve Gastrointestinal Function and Life Quality in Pregnancy. Nutrients, 2021; 13 (11): 3931 DOI: 10.3390/nu13113931

Nausea and vomiting affect about 85% of pregnancies and can significantly impact quality of life, particularly during early pregnancy.

“The cause of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy is unknown to this date. Various theories have been proposed, but none of them is conclusive,” said Albert T. Liu, lead author for the study and a professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

“Nausea, vomiting and constipation during pregnancy can significantly diminish the quality of patients’ lives. Once nausea and vomiting during pregnancy progress, they can become difficult to control, and sometimes the patient even needs to be hospitalized,” Liu said.

Beneficial microbes

Probiotics are referred to as “beneficial bacteria.” They can be found in foods like yogurt, kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut and tempeh. Probiotics are also available as food supplements. According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, other than vitamins, probiotics or prebiotics were the third most commonly used dietary supplement for adults.

Probiotics are thought to support the community of different microbes, often referred to as the “gut microbiome,” found in the gastrointestinal tract.

During pregnancy, hormones like estrogen and progesterone increase, bringing about many physical changes. These increases can also change the gut microbiome, which likely affects the digestive system functions and causes unwanted symptoms like nausea, vomiting and constipation.

The researchers set out to determine whether supplementing with a probiotic could be beneficial for gastrointestinal function during pregnancy.

The study lasted for 16 days. A total of 32 participants took a probiotic capsule twice a day for six days and then took two days off. They then repeated the cycle.

The probiotics were available over-the-counter and mainly containedLactobacillus., a type of good bacteria. Each capsule contained approximately 10 billion live cultures at the time of manufacture.

Participants kept 17 daily observations of their symptoms during the duration of the study, for a total of 535 observations for the researchers to statistically assess.

What the researchers found was that taking the probiotic significantly reduced nausea and vomiting. Nausea hours (the number of hours participants felt nauseous) were reduced by 16%, and the number of times they vomited was reduced by 33%. Probiotic intake also significantly improved symptoms related to quality of life, such as fatigue, poor appetite and difficulty maintaining normal social activities, as scored by questionnaires.

Probiotics were also found to reduce constipation significantly.

“Over the years, I’ve observed that probiotics can reduce nausea and vomiting and ease constipation. It’s very encouraging that the study proved this to be true,” said Liu. “Probiotics have also benefited many of my other patients who weren’t in the study,” said Liu.

New clues from gut microbes and byproducts

Participants also contributed fecal specimens before and during the study. The samples were analyzed to identify the type and number of microbes and the different byproducts of digestion.

This allowed the researchers to examine whether biomarkers in the fecal specimens corresponded with more severe nausea and assess how the probiotics affected participants who began the study with different baseline biomarkers.

One finding was that a low amount of bacteria that carry an enzyme named bile salt hydrolase, which generates bile acid to absorb nutrients, was associated with more pregnancy-related vomiting. Probiotics increase bile salt hydrolase-producing bacteria, which may explain why the supplements decreased levels of nausea and vomiting.

Another finding was that high levels of the gut microbes Akkermansia and A. muciniphila at the beginning of the study were associated with more vomiting. The probiotic significantly reduced the amount of those particular microbes and also reduced vomiting. This suggests Akkermansia and A. muciniphila may be reliable biomarkers that can predict vomiting in pregnancy.

Another finding was that vitamin E levels increased after taking probiotics. Higher levels of vitamin E were associated with low vomiting scores.

“This research provides key insights about the impact of gut microbes on gastrointestinal function during pregnancy. Our gut microbiota explains why we are what we eat, and why bacteria-generated metabolites and products have a huge impact on our health,” said Wan. “They affect the gastrointestinal tract as well as skin health and neurological function.”

Although the findings are intriguing, the researchers caution that due to the small sample size, further studies will be needed to confirm the effects of the probiotics.

“Our previous work showed the benefits of probiotics in preventing liver inflammation. The current study might be one of the first to show the benefits of probiotics in pregnancy,” said Wan. “It would be interesting and important to further test whether probiotics can reduce nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients.”

HSV Hamburg welcomes THW Kiel to the top game of the 14th matchday in the handball Bundesliga today. The NDR shows the duel, which brings back great memories, live on television and live stream.

by Jan Kirschner

Ten or 15 years ago, titles were fought out between these two clubs in sometimes heated games and many a side theater was opened outside the hall. On the one hand, the newly rich upstart from the Elbe, who won the championship trophy as a challenger in 2011 and came in second three times. On the other hand, the traditional “zebras”, the series champions.

Bitter: “As a climber, blatant outsider”

Times have changed. “We are newcomers and blatant outsiders. We meet one of the best teams in the world,” said goalkeeping veteran Johannes Bitter, who was one of the protagonists of the great HSV times and returned to his old place of work in the summer. But one thing has not changed: The Nord-Schlager electrifies handball fans: Despite the corona pandemic and 2G requirements, Hamburgers expect a season record crowd of 8,000 viewers for the game, which starts at 1.40 p.m.

HSVH is doing well as a newcomer

Hamburg should not go into a duel without a chance. After the HSV handball players disappeared from the Bundesliga a few years ago after a financial collapse, they reported back this summer. And that is quite respectable: Most recently, they beat the much higher rated MT Melsungen and are in the upper midfield as seventh in the table.

THW in Hamburg under pressure to act

Meanwhile, the Kielers held their own against Vardar Skopje (32:30) on Thursday and improved to second place in the Champions League. They are also in second place in the Bundesliga, but already have six minus points more than leaders SC Magdeburg. So the THW is under pressure if the title defense is not to move into the distant future.

“The little derby is the next tough task for us.”
THW-Trainer Filip Jicha

After all, the roster is complete. A rarity in this phase of the season. “It will never be a matter of course for us to win a Bundesliga game against a strong opponent,” explains THW trainer Filip Jicha. “The little derby is the next tough task for us.”

“It’s great to be able to play a game like this”

Since the Hamburgers are not internationally active, they were free of play during the week. Except for Dominik Axmann and Jan Kleineidam, who are sidelined with foot injuries, all men are probably on board.

The hosts will enter the game with a lot of respect, as the 24-year-old backcourt player Finn Wullenweber explains: “It felt like my entire childhood was the THW Kiel German champions. It’s great to be able to play a game like this – and anything is possible in our hall . “
