Since Game of Thrones will come to an end in 2019 we have hardly seen again Emilia Clarke onscreen. Beyond the Christmas comedy Last Christmas and the episodic horror film Murder Manual (which did not even go through Spain), his name had not been heard again for any great project. Until now.

And it is that the unforgettable mother of dragons is negotiating her participation in secret invasionthe new series of Marvel with which she could leave behind her role as Daenerys Targaryen and continue building her career in other acclaimed franchises.

As reported Variety, the actress would be close to closing the deal with the studio to work on this production of the Marvel Universe that will soon arrive in Disney+. It will be an adaptation of the comic of the same title published in 2008, a script that narrates how dozens of superheroes are being replaced by the Skrulls, whom we have already seen in Captain Marvel and in one of the post-credits scenes of Scarlet Witch and Vision.

secret invasion will also feature the participation of Samuel L. Jackson y Ben Mendelsohn, who will reprise their respective roles as Nick Fury and Talos. Kevin Feige will be back supervising the project and writer and producer Kyle Bradstreet, known for being at the helm of Mr. Robot, will be in charge of developing this new chapter of the Disney superhero saga. Furthermore, as recently revealed The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winner Olivia Colman will also join the roster.

But which character will Emilia Clarke play? At the moment no more information has been revealed about her signing, but Marvel fans are theorizing that the actress could play Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman..

GUIDE | The steps you have to follow to be able to see a tweet that is not available due to your privacy preferences

Clarke is originally from the United Kingdom and in the comics it is detailed that the character of Drew has a strong British accent. Nevertheless, the rights to Spider-Woman are in the hands of Sony and not MarvelAlthough, given the agreement reached by both companies to bring Spider-Man to the Marvel universe, it would not be surprising if they extended it to other characters. Of course, in this story it would not be the real Spider-Woman, but an imitation carried out by the Skrull Queen, just as it happens in the comics.

This signing would serve the actress to separate herself from the role of Daenerys Targararyen once and for all and not be pigeonholed into a single mythical character of popular culture. In fact, she has already tried these steps before, since played Sarah Connor in terminator genesis and Qi’ra in Han Solo: A Star Wars Story. Although on those occasions she was not very lucky, since the failures of both films relegated his roles to oblivion.

Now he will try his luck again with the Marvel Universe, a more than established franchise that continues to achieve constant success. Even your partner Game of Thrones, Kit Harington, has followed exactly the same pathsince we will see you soon in Eternals playing Dane Whitman. In addition, this film directed by the director of Nomadland, Oscar nominee Chloé Zhao will also feature Richard Madden, who played Rob Stark for the first three seasons of the HBO series. In this way, and without realizing it, the Marvel Universe could become a reunion of stars of Game of Thrones looking to redirect their careers.

Curiously, Game of Thrones has returned to the news in recent days as a result of its tenth anniversary and that HBO has called the “anniversary of Iron”. Without going any further, the platform is celebrating it with a special program called the “MaraThrone”, a marathon of all the seasons with which they challenge fans to watch all the episodes while raising funds for charitable organizations, in addition to launching special edition products.

In the study, researchers coined the phrase ?algorithmic outrage deficit? to describe their findings from eight experiments conducted with a total of more than 3,900 participants from the United States, Canada and Norway.

When presented with various scenarios about gender discrimination in hiring decisions caused by algorithms and humans, participants were less morally outraged about those caused by algorithms. Participants also believed companies were less legally liable for discrimination when it was due to an algorithm.

?It?s concerning that companies could use algorithms to shield themselves from blame and public scrutiny over discriminatory practices,? said lead researcher Yochanan Bigman, PhD, a post-doctoral research fellow at Yale University and incoming assistant professor at Hebrew University. The findings could have broader implications and affect efforts to combat discrimination, Bigman said. The research was published online in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General.

?People see humans who discriminate as motivated by prejudice, such as racism or sexism, but they see algorithms that discriminate as motivated by data, so they are less morally outraged,? Bigman said. ?Moral outrage is an important societal mechanism to motivate people to address injustices. If people are less morally outraged about discrimination, then they might be less motivated to do something about it.?

Some of the experiments used a scenario based on a real-life example of alleged algorithm-based gender discrimination by Amazon that penalized female job applicants. While the research focused on gender discrimination, one of the eight experiments was replicated to examine racial and age discrimination and had similar findings.

Knowledge about artificial intelligence didn?t appear to make a difference. In one experiment with more than 150 tech workers in Norway, participants who reported greater knowledge about artificial intelligence were still less outraged by gender discrimination caused by algorithms.

When people learn more about a specific algorithm it may affect their outlook, the researchers found. In another study, participants were more outraged when a hiring algorithm that caused gender discrimination was created by male programmers at a company known for sexist practices.

Programmers should be aware of the possibility of unintended discrimination when designing new algorithms, Bigman said. Public education campaigns also could stress that discrimination caused by algorithms may be a result of existing inequities, he said.

His life and struggle was so impressive that it has been taken to the big screen on several occasions, the most impressive being that made by Netflix.

Netflix recreates the life of Jean Seberg

under the production of Netflix, Kristen Stewart tells the life of the actress who worked with Clint Eastwood and Jean-Paul Belmondo and that, due to her militancy for civil rights, she ended up persecuted and harassed by the government.

In the movie Seberg (2017) all this part of the actress’s life is told, there they talk about her relationships including the one she had with Hakim Jamal and the support for the Black Panthers.

Her marriage to the writer is also seen Romain Gary, the second of the three of the actress, without a doubt the most important.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease stratification by liver lipidomics. Journal of Lipid Research, 2021; 62: 100104 DOI: 10.1016/j.jlr.2021.100104

To extract disease subtypes from large pools of patient data, new machine learning algorithms can help. They are designed to independently recognize patterns and correlations in extensive clinical measurements. The LipiTUM junior research group, headed by Dr. Josch Konstantin Pauling of the Chair for Experimental Bioinformatics has developed an algorithm for this purpose.

Complex analysis via automated web tool

Their method combines the results of existing algorithms to obtain more precise and robust predictions of clinical subtypes. This unifies the characteristics and advantages of each algorithm and eliminates their time-consuming adjustment. ?This makes it much easier to apply the analysis in clinical research,? reports Dr. Pauling. ?For that reason, we have developed a web-based tool that permits online analysis of molecular clinical data by practitioners without prior knowledge of bioinformatics.?

On the website (https://exbio.wzw.tum.de/mosbi/), researchers can submit their data for automated analysis and use the results to interpret their studies. ?Another important aspect for us was the visualization of the results. Previous approaches were not capable of generating intuitive visualizations of relationships between patient groups, clinical factors and molecular signatures. This will change with the web-based visualization produced by our MoSBi tool,? says Tim Rose, a scientist at the TUM School of Life Sciences. MoSBi stands for ?Molecular Signatures using Biclustering.? ?Biclustering? is the name of the technology used by the algorithm.

Application for clinically relevant questions

With the tool, researchers can now, for example, represent data from cancer studies and simulations for various scenarios. They have already demonstrated the potential of their method in a large-scale clinical study. In a cooperative study conducted with researchers from the Max Planck Institute in Dresden, the Technical University of Dresden and the Kiel University Clinic, they studied the change in lipid metabolism in the liver of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

This widespread disease is associated with obesity and diabetes. It develops from the non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL), in which lipids are deposited in liver cells, to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), in which the liver becomes further inflamed, to liver cirrhosis and the formation of tumors. Apart from dietary adjustments, no treatments have been found to date. Because the disease is characterized and diagnosed by the accumulation of various lipids in the liver, it is important to understand their molecular composition.

Biomarkers for liver disease

Using the MoSBi methods, the researchers were able to demonstrate the heterogeneity of the livers of patients in the NAFL stage at the molecular level. ?From a molecular standpoint, the liver cells of many NAFL patients were almost identical to those of NASH patients, while others were still largely similar to healthy patients. We could also confirm our predictions using clinical data,? says Dr. Pauling. ?We were then able to identify two potential lipid biomarkers for disease progression.? This is important for early recognition of the disease and its progression and the development of targeted treatments.

The research group is already working on further applications of their method to gain a better understanding of other diseases. ?In the future algorithms will play an even greater role in biomedical research than they already do today. They can make it significantly easier to detect complex mechanisms and find more targeted treatment approaches,? says Dr. Pauling.

Wer Kintyre angemessen erkunden möchte, braucht mindestens drei volle Tage.

kintyre schottland grabplatten saddell abbey

kintyre schottland grabsteil saddell abbey

kintyre schottland saddell spielplatz

kintyre schottland saddell castle

Schottland-Geheimtipp hin oder her

Tea Time in Torrisdale

kintyre schottland torrisdale castle

skipness castle kintyre schottland geheimtipp

“Mr. Spears can run, but he can’t hide forever.” Those are the crystal clear words of Britney Spears’ attorneys about her father, her father James, Jamie, Spears, 69, who for 13 years and until last September was his legal guardian. Although the singer has eight months of long-awaited freedom, she does not forget what she suffered during the years in which her father controlled her personal and professional life, as well as her fortune. And that is why she has decided that her legal team will pursue him in court.

The singer’s lawyers accuse James Spears of avoiding, for months, making a legal statement in the competent court. The first time they were notified was on October 20, just three weeks after the artist achieved freedom, as the magazine has learned exclusively People. Therefore, they accuse him of “hiding from his legal and fiduciary obligations.”

“After using his daughter’s money for more than 13 years to pay for his legal costs and expenses, for the first time Mr. Spears will now have to bear his own legal costs,” writes Mathew S. Rosengart, attorney for the singer, in documents obtained by the publication. As is clear from the statements, money is important in the case. The singer’s lawyers accuse her father of having kept 6.3 million dollars (5.9 million euros) of Britney Spears’s fortune, and also of “paying his partners tens of millions more” to throughout a guardianship that they describe as ?corrupt and conflictive?. In fact, just before she was released from custody, Spears’ lawyer already explained that Jamie wanted to receive two million dollars before leaving her guardianship.

Lawyers have been trying for months to get James Spears to answer their “unfinished business” questions. Specifically, they have asked him to explain how he handled his daughter’s money during those 13 years but, they say, he is “obstructing and hindering” that statement. They accuse him of having ?unfinished business? that he is avoiding closing with them and that he has rejected some of the notices they have sent him to testify, stating that he was ?unavailable? and that he now lives in Kentwood (Louisiana), and that the declaration requests are for Los Angeles, in the State of California.

A few days before being released from her guardianship, it was learned that Britney Spears had all her communications intercepted and monitored thanks to an electronic control device installed by her father on her mobile. Lawyers now also accuse James Spears that he is avoiding turning over “communications related to the shocking surveillance apparatus set up to spy on his daughter.”

Jamie Spears has been the legal guardian of Britney Spears from the year 2007 until September 2021. Last year, in July, the singer finally got her own legal team; since her father controlled everything in her, he had also established who her lawyer was, who came to compare her abilities with those of a person in a coma. However, with the arrival of her new lawyer, Rosengart, the situation took a turn.

After years in which her opinion had not been heard or she had not been able to raise her voice, Spears was able to speak last year in court, which was also key to achieving the change of lawyer. A shocking statement in which she assured that both her father and “everyone involved in this custody”, including her manager, “should be in prison”. ?Before I thought no one would believe me. I thought people would make fun of me. But now I want my life back. It has been enough, ?she sentenced.

Small-molecule activation of OGG1 increases oxidative DNA damage repair by gaining a new function. Science, 2022; 376 (6600): 1471 DOI: 10.1126/science.abf8980

Drug development has long been based on finding specific pathogenic proteins and creating treatments that involve blocking these proteins in various ways. However, many diseases are caused by a loss of or decrease in protein function, which cannot be directly targeted by using inhibitors.

Based on a Nobel Prize-winning discovery

In the current study, researchers from Karolinska Institutet improved the function of a protein called OGG1, an enzyme that repairs oxidative DNA damage, implicated in ageing and diseases such as Alzheimer?s disease, cancer, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases and lung diseases.

To conduct their research, the group used a method called organocatalysis, a tool developed by Benjamin List and David W.C. MacMillan who were awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The method is based on the discovery that small organic molecules can serve as catalysts and induce chemical reactions without themselves being part of the final product.

The researchers examined how such catalyst molecules, previously described by others, bind to OGG1 and affect its function in cells. One of the molecules proved to be of particular interest.

Ten times more effective

?When we introduce the catalyst into the enzyme, the enzyme becomes ten times more effective at repairing oxidative DNA damage and can perform a new repair function,? says the study?s first author Maurice Michel, assistant professor at the Department of Oncology-Pathology, Karolinska Institutet.

The catalyst made it possible for the enzyme to cut the DNA in an unusual way so that it no longer requires its regular protein APE1 to work but another protein called PNKP1.

The researchers believe that OGG1 proteins improved in this way can form new drugs for diseases in which oxidative damage is implicated. However, Professor Thomas Helleday at the Department of Oncology-Pathology, Karolinska Institutet and the study?s last author also sees broader applications, where the concept of adding a small catalyst molecule to a protein is used to improve and change other proteins as well.

New protein functions are generated

?We believe that this technology could instigate a paradigm shift in the pharmaceutical industry, whereby new protein functions are generated instead of being suppressed by inhibitors,? says Thomas Helleday. ?But the technique isn?t limited to drugs. The applications are virtually unlimited.?

The study was financed by numerous bodies, including the European Research Council, the Swedish Research Council, the Crafoord Foundation, the Swedish Cancer Society, the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundation and the Dr Åke Olsson Foundation for Haematological Research.

Many of the researchers involved in the study are listed in a patent application concerning OGG1 inhibitors and are associated with the organisation that owns the patent. Two are employed by Oxcia AB, which licenses the patent, and many are shareholders in the company.

Union started their season with a 1-3 win at Rebecq on Tuesday. Karel Geraerts’ first-ever T1 outing saw him review 22 players. “First of all, I’m happy to win, because even in a friendly, it’s essential”he explains.

A 3-5-2 system

As under Mazzù last season, Geraerts chose a 3-5-2 system for this first. “I will not necessarily always use this scheme, I will try others, but it is a formula that I worked on last season and that I know well”he explained.

A structure which allowed his team to monopolize the ball, move forward easily, but which also exposed them to a few counterattacks, including the one which led to Rebecq’s opener.

The new T1 lined up two completely different eleven per period. Managers Burgess, Van der Heyden, Lazare, Pirard and François surrounded a few young people before the break, while Machida, Kandouss and Puertas were the only regulars in the A nucleus after.

Many new ones, including Mohamed Salah

So there were quite a few new faces in the 22 players lined up. Four new transfers were there: defenders Viktor Boone and Ross Sykes, left winger Arnaud Dony and striker Dennis Eckert Ayenka. The latter even scored the 1-3 goal in the 90th minute, for his very first in his new jersey. After just a few days of training, the automatisms were logically not yet present.

The very last reinforcement, Simon Adingra, present at Rebecq, even if his loan from Brighton has not yet been formalized, was there as a spectator.

Geraerts is a coach who can already count on five reinforcements. “I’ve been at Union for three years and I know the club are always looking to transfer early. Others are still coming, by the way.”

Among young people, it is logically Ilyes Ziani, already present on many occasions with the core A last season, who stood out. Author of the 1-1, he took his responsibilities during the half-time he played and was on the verge of making 1-2. At his side was the young Mohamed Salah, namesake of the Liverpool star. One of the youngsters of the club. “It’s good to have been able to integrate six or seven young people from our academy”welcomes Geraerts.

Without Nielsen (but not only)

As expected, Casper Nielsen was not on the scoresheet. Present in Rebecq, the Dane had warned that he did not intend to participate in this friendly, unhappy with the categorical refusal of the unionist management to negotiate his transfer with Bruges, despite an offer of 3.5 million ?. “I spoke a lot with Casper, who is very professional in training”explains Geraerts. “We have decided that he will not participate in this friendly. He will not play Deinze on Saturday either. I understand his point of view and that of the club too, which does not want to sell its best player for a low price. But well, I know Casper is going to leave. If not, he’s more than welcome here. He’s very professional and invested in training, he has to prepare for his future, wherever that may be. But I’m not afraid of losing other executives, they have a new challenge: to succeed in the European Cup.”

Dante Vanzeir (abdominals), Bart Nieuwkoop and Senne Lynen were spared for reasons of physical precaution. Internationals Moris, Lapoussin and Teuma are expected in training on Wednesday.
